There were over 6,000 sites and links to our original website which was hosted as an AOL member site.
Even though herpesite.org has been our main site for almost nine years, the links to the AOL member
site were our original references, going back to our beginnings in 1994. When AOL abruptly shut down
the Hometown service October 1, 2008, all those reference links were wiped out!
Many sites that had us as a reference, including a number of articles in peer-reviewed medical journals,
were left leading to nowhere. Unfortunately, those articles can't be changed, and the references in them
still lead to http://members.aol.com/herpesite/.
As time allows, we are contacting the webmasters of many of the other sites and providing them with our
current address. This is a huge task, but were working on it! Thanks so much for your support, and best
wished to you!
